At Settle Service, our first order of business is always to get to know you as an individual, because how else can we tailor our service to specifically suit your needs? With this in mind, your relocation process will commence with an introductory call so that your dedicated relocation coordinator can learn about your requirements, values, and wishes. Upon completion of this you will be furnished with access to a personalised account on MySettleService, our one access point for all information pertinent to your relocation as well as a communications portal between you and your relocation coordinator.

Due to our years of experience, we are much attuned to the cultural differences some movers experience upon their arrival to The Netherlands. We use our expertise to provide guidance on this, ensuring that your expectations are aligned with the reality of the locale in which you will relocate.

By accessing your personalized account at MySettleService, you will be able to find a comprehensive overview of your destination city and a plethora of handy tips about settling in The Netherlands. Based on your preferences, you will be provided with details of the appropriate amenities, institutions, and neighbourhoods that are relevant to you helping you to feel at home as quickly as possible. Of course you will also be provided with general information about what makes the city special, we also like to answer the questions you didn’t know to ask!

If you, or a member of your family, are of non-EU nationality, we will apply for immigration to The Netherlands. We will guide the party through all the necessary procedures and personally take care of much of the documentation for you. Due to our knowledge, experience, and governmental relationships, we usually know up front if an application will be instantly successful. If this is not the case, we liaise with your employer to see what steps must be taken in order to achieve a successful application.

Depending on the package procured by your employer, we may have a role in securing housing for you and your family. Again, this process begins with learning about the needs of you and your loved ones. For some, the school district is a priority, for others, it is a vibrant social scene. Regardless of your needs, we will list your requirements so as to best service you in the search for a new home. There is a variety of approaches when it comes to finding suitable accommodation. Experience has shown us that many movers like ‘hands on’ involvement in the procurement of their home, in which case we adopt an advisory role, supplying you with various options based on your preferences. We will advise you on any properties you might have found on your own. Alternatively, we can remove your burden completely, simply providing you with a list of properties to choose from.

As with much of our service, we present the housing options through your MySettleService account, allowing you to consistently access all your relevant details in one convenient location. We will also arrange viewings, and, if agreed upon with your employer, have one of our local consultants accompany you to give you the best possible advice from a local perspective. Following your selection of a property, we will negotiate on your behalf, ensuring you get the optimum deal, and of course we can coordinate all aspects of your move, including the arrangements for all necessary utilities.

Arranging the Practicalities

There are certainly numerous additional arrangements to be made when relocating; such as registration, opening local bank accounts, taxation numbers, insurance etc. We supply all the relevant information pertaining to this through your MySettleService account. However, depending on your package, Settle Service can arrange, and even accompany you, to all necessary appointments to ensure the smoothest possible transition into your new life!

Should your stay in The Netherlands come to an end, we are always here to provide assistance with the closure of contracts, de-registration with authorities, and deposit negotiations, among other tasks. Put simply, Settle Service are always on hand to make your arrival, and your departure, as stress free as it can be!
