Heleen, Leonie, Els, Eugenie, Ina, Ingrid, Liesbeth, Tatjana

Heleen is a well known face in the The Hague region. Although born and raised abroad, she spent most of her life in this city and knows exactly what's what and where. She is also familiar in other regions, such as Rotterdam and Leiden. She loves to travel and holds a special place in her hart for Africa. She has been with Settle Service since 1998.

Leonie has been with Settle Service since 2001. She is fully focussed on the The Hague area and loves to introduce others to the hot spots and interesting places in this exciting region.

Els has lived in Africa, the middle East and the Far East for almost 15 years. She knows as no other what it means if your child falls sick and you need to call a doctor that does not necessarily speak your language. She joined Settle Service some 8 years ago and enjoys it every day again.

Eugenie has joined Settle Service 9 years ago and still enjoys the work. She has lived and worked in Brazil for 6 years before returning to the Netherlands. She understands the issues that expatriates face when arriving in a foreign country.

Ina has lived in the UK, the Middle East, the Far East and the Caribbean for almost 15 years. She knows what it is to be new to a country. She now lives in Oegstgeest and knows the The Hague and Leiden areas very well.

Ingrid has been working with several internationally oriented companies but chose to join Settle Service in 2003. She is fluent in Spanish so when we are welcoming a Spanish speaking expat we usually ask Ingrid to step in. Most of her time she works in the field and nowadays you can also sometimes find her at our Haarlem office.

Liesbeth has lived with her husband and children in the UK, Dominican Republic and Paris, France for over 15 years. She went to university in Leiden and enjoys helping expatriates to find their way around in the Leiden, The Hague and Rotterdam areas.

Tatjana was born in Rotterdam, but raised in The Hague. She knows the area very well on housing, schools, sports, culture programs etc. In the past, she lived in the UK and France.
Before Settle Service she was an employee of several international companies in Holland.
For her this is a fantastic opportunity to combine all her experiences to help people from all over the world to settle in the Netherlands.

There is a strong royal influence in historic Delft. The 'Nieuwe Kerk' church houses the royal vault where the members of the Dutch Royal Family rest in peace.
www.delft.nl

Home to the Netherlands's parliament, The Hague is the UN's forth city, which lends it an international flavour.
www.thehague.nl

Whether you are an architecture junkie or not, Rotterdam is well worth visiting for it's skyline. It is perhaps the most daring and exiting city of the Netherlands.
www.rotterdam.com

Often considered the prettiest town in the province of Noord Brabant, Breda is small and compact with plenty of interesting architecture and pleasant town squares.
www.vvvbreda.nl

The lowest point in the Netherlands, the Alexander polder near Rotterdam, lies 20 feet below the sea. If you draw a straight line across the Netherlands from Hoek van Holland towards the German border, you will only find yourself above sea-level 40 miles inland. This fact has caused major problems in the past, one of the worst being the 1953 disaster, when during a severe storm the dikes broke and 1835 people drowned.
After this tragedy, various projects were started in bid to keep out the water. The largest and most impressive are the Delta Works, also referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The Delta Works consist of several movable barriers, locks and dams connecting the province of South Holland and the Zeeland islands. For an interesting insight into the project and the engineering work involved visit the website: www.deltawerken.com
www.haarlem.nl

Every spring, the Keukenhof is a feast for the eye. Millions of tulips and other bulb flowers are in bloom and colour the fields.

Bina, Jocelyn, Annelien

Bina has been working with Settle Service over 7 years and comes from a background in tourism. She enjoys introducing your employees to real Dutch Fast Food: 'kroket' or beef croquette and 'patatje oorlog' that translates into "war fries".

Jocelyn has only recently joined Settle Service. Because of her Australian father, being a KLM captain, she has travelled all over the world. Especially the Far East and Australia. She is now showing expats around in Utrecht and Amsterdam area.

Annelien has lived with her family (husband and three children) in Hong Kong, Sydney and Paris. Currently, she is living in the centre of the Netherlands. She did a lot of voluntary work. 'Now that her children have left high school she feels it is time to use her experiences to help new arrivals to settle.'

In the region of Arnhem and Nijmegen there is hours of family fun to be had exploring the many woods, heaths and parks that make this area great for cycling and walking. The city's historic city centres are great for shopping, fine wining & dining and have a bustling nightlife. If art and history are more your thing, visit the Kröller Möller Museum which exhibits more than 200 works by Van Gogh.

Myriam Speaks French, German and English and lived all over the Netherlands. Finally she has settled in the Groningen area. As an active field hockey and golf player, she is able to advise the best suitable sport club for your expatriates.

Groningen is a young and vibrant city that has an abundance of historic buildings and is famous for its beautiful surroundings.
www.groningen.nl/toerisme

At the end of June the city of Assen goes race mad. During this period the Dutch TT races are held in this capital of the province of Drenthe. The drivers in the various categories prepare for the Grand Prix race.
www.assen.nl

As soon as winter gets more serious in The Netherlands, the Northerners will start preparing for the 'Friesche Elfsteden Tocht'. The 11-city marathon covers a course of almost 200 kilometres. From town to town, over lakes and ditches, between the fields and under the bridges. Hundreds of thousands of spectators brave the cold and cheer the skaters along the route. Leeuwarden, the capital of Friesland, has always been the start and finish.
